The first release by the Rodeo Circuit came in the form of a 5 song EP. Recorded at home by Grubb and Deal, the sound is live and relatively lo-fi. Even though this lineup was the longest of the Rodeo Circuit (Deal and Brooks would leave the next spring), this EP is all that represents it. The majority of the songs on the follow up full-length, 'Outside the City' were written while supporting this EP with the lineup of Grubb, Brooks, Deal and Vasquez.

The Rodeo Circuit was formed in the fall of 2000 by Mike Grubb, Chris Brooks, Paul Vasquez and Colin Duncan. Duncan would soon leave the band, being replaced by Aaron Deal.
